About the Seaholm Bands

A Tradition of Excellence

Seaholm Marching Band formal uniform on display.

Our band program is designed to expand our children’s learning experiences in hopes that they establish a vigorous work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and a commitment to each other. The Seaholm Bands, directed by Timothy Cibor, is committed to enriching, enlarging, and enhancing the educational experience for students enrolled, at the same time focusing on the students’ emotional and psychological well-being.

Our purpose is to provide the highest possible quality of music instruction, training, and education while maintaining an enthusiastic interest in the various programs and activities of the Seaholm Bands and school community.

Marching Band Requirements

All students who participate in the high school band program must participate in Marching Band during the first semester. Varsity football players who wish to be in band will be given an alternative assignment for the first 10 weeks, since they will not be required to march.

The Marching Band performs at all home football games, all playoff games and the Halloween Parade. Each school year will begin with a week long Marching Band Camp late in the summer. It is a requirement that all band members attend the entire week of band camp in addition to periodic evening rehearsals.

Seaholm Band Uniforms

Lookin' Sharp!

Seaholm Bands actually has three different uniforms: Formal Concert, Formal Marching and Casual/Warm Weather Marching. Additionally, each band member has a band t-shirt that is unique each year. The most creative uniforms of the year are on display at our annual Halloween Parade. The information below will help explain each of the uniforms, what is provided by the school, and what needs to be purchased.

Uniform Volunteers

Supporting the members of Seaholm Bands, the Uniform Volunteers are one of the most important groups of parents in the band. From measuring uniform sizes during band camp to managing the uniform room during marching season, these volunteers ensure that our band members always look sharp. Thank you!

Formal Concert Uniform

For formal concert settings, such as Winter and Spring Concerts and Band Festival, students are issued black tuxedo uniforms. These uniforms are sized during band camp, are distributed to the students, and are stored at home.

Provided by Seaholm:
  • Black Tuxedo Jacket
  • Black Tuxedo Pants or Skirt
  • Garment Bag & Hanger
Brought from Home / Purchased:
  • Maroon t-shirt (purchase from band)
  • Black Shoes (marching shoes are acceptable)
  • Black Socks/Hose/Tights

Formal Marching Uniform

For most football games and marching band performances, the full marching uniform will be used. Unlike the concert uniform, the marching uniform is kept in the uniform room at school.

Provided by Seaholm:
  • Black Marching Bibs & Maroon Jacket
  • White Baldric (sash) & Black Beret
  • White Gloves (percussion excluded)
Purchased from Band Boosters:
  • Black Marching Shoes
Brought from Home:
  • Black Socks

Casual / Warm Weather Marching Uniform

For warm weather marching, such as the first football games in August and the Celebrate Birmingham Parade in May. The black band jacket will be added for colder weather.

Purchased from Band Boosters:
  • Maroon Band Polo Shirt
  • Black Band Jacket
Brought from Home:
  • Khaki Pants & Brown Belt
  • White Crew Socks & White Tennis Shoes

Other Uniforms

Band T-Shirt: Each year there is a new band t-shirt design. This t-shirt is worn on the last day of band camp, during trips, and can be worn under the formal marching uniform.

Halloween Parade: The only appropriate uniform for this parade is a Halloween Costume and it is one of the highlights of the year!
